Case study: Volunteering

The challenge:

It is sometimes hard to find what to do in your spare time for our friends and members. We have decided volunteering is a fantastic option.

The outcome:

Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer. The right match can help you find friends, connect with the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career.

Giving to others can also help protect your mental and physical health. It can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose. While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day. Giving in even simple ways can help those in need and improve your health and happiness.

Through our volunteering engagement, we were able to find opportunities for about 40 people in total. Members and non-members to improve the lives of others.

The impact:

We have volunteered in many engagements, which has significantly improved the conditions of living and quality of life of at least 300 other people in our community. This is through:

  • regular football trainings
  • Many, various social activities (cycling, hiking, supporting our sports teams, parties, etc)
  • GOCC 2023 and 2024
  • Wojtek Day 2023
  • LLAMA project
  • Safety While Hiking project
  • Cleaning up graves of Polish soldiers
  • Sports day at school
